Keep off flooded rivers ! Machakos County Secretary Dr.Muya Ndambuki warns Machakos residents

Machakos County Secretary Dr.Muya Ndambuki has warned Machakos residents against crossing flooded rivers during this rain season.

Speaking at Machakos Prison grounds during a fund drive for the construction of Prison Mosque, Machakos County Secretary Dr.Muya Ndambuki warned residents against crossing or driving across flooded rivers to avoid incidents of drowning as witnessed in the past in various parts of the country.
The County Secretary Dr.Muya Ndambuki urged residents residing in flood-risk areas to take precautions and observe disaster safety measures in wake of the current rainy weather.

"People should take precautionary measures as such localized Heavy Rain may lead to flash flooding or flooding to communities living close to rivers, streams and low lying areas," said Dr.Muya Ndambuki

He urged the public to be prepared and stay safe with more heavy rain and possible flooding in Machakos.
"Know your situation. If you don’t have to leave home, don’t. If you can work from home, do so, " said Dr.Muya 

He went on;
"Do not walk, swim, or drive through flood waters. Don’t take the risk of drowning. " 

Following the day's agenda, the County Secretary Dr.Muya Ndambuki reiterated Machakos County commitment to supporting all religions for it is through faith and prayer, that Machakos County will be fully transformed.
He said that rescue teams remain on the ground to offer all the assistance that may be required by Machakos residents for safe evacuation.

In attendance was Mohamed Kala, Machakos Chief Officer for Health, Majority Leader Nicholas Kitavi Nzioka Wangondi among many other leaders.
