Hon. Francis Kitaka Attends Holy Mass at Katangi Catholic Church, Calls for Peace and Prayers

Today, Ndalani Ward MCA and aspiring Yatta MP, Hon. Francis Kitaka, attended Holy Mass at Katangi Catholic Church. Describing the service as "spiritually uplifting and peaceful," the leader reflected on the importance of faith in leadership and community building.

Quoting Psalm 122:1, he shared, "I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’"

In his brief address to the congregation, Hon. Kitaka called for peace and unity among the people of Yatta. “Let us be one people, guided by love, peace, and mutual respect. Only through unity can we achieve meaningful progress,” he stated.

He also urged the church faithful to continue praying for leaders and for the well-being of the community. “I humbly ask for your prayers as I serve and as I seek to represent you in a greater capacity,” he added.

Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi commended the Muslim faithful for their unwavering commitment to their faith, stating that their dedication serves as an inspiration to the entire county.

“Their commitment to faith inspires us all, and we appreciate their support in the growth and development of our county. May the Lord accept their prayers and good deeds during this period,” he remarked.

Governor Wavinya urged the Muslim community to remain steadfast in faith and embrace love and unity. She emphasized her administration’s continued support for the community, acknowledging their contributions to the county's progress.

However, she also used the occasion to hit out at critics of her government, warning those allegedly sponsoring protests over poor roads.

“Those destabilizing the county’s growth with cheap politics are warned. Their days are numbered,” she said.

Deputy Governor Mwangangi called upon all Machakos residents to embrace the spirit of sharing and faith during this holy period. He further encouraged them to plant trees during the ongoing rainy season to combat climate change and ensure a greener Machakos.
