8 Students from needy backgrounds who sat for 2023 KCPE examinations will benefit from Equitys' education enhancement programme- Wings To Fly Scholarship. The 8 are from Machakos Town SUB-COUNTY.
The programme, targeted students who scored over 350 marks in last year's KCPE examinations.

According to Machakos Equity Branch Manager - Hellen Muthoki, the scholarship takes care of learners' tuition, shopping as well as leadership training and mentorship. The eight are 4 males and 4 females.
Hellen Congratulated the beneficiaries, asking them to make sure they repay the community and Equity Bank by working hard in the academics for better future.
She also noted that the selection committee had a very transparent process during the selection process of the needy process.

The 8 beneficiaries from Machakos SUB-COUNTY brings a total of 32 beneficiaries from the entire Machakos County.
The beneficiaries were flagged off to Pangani Girl's School in Nairobi for a 4 days Induction process.
Faith Mutanu from Kivandini Primary who scored 388 marks couldn't hide her joy, having conquered several challenges.
"I would have performed better were it not for the circumstances at home. I want to get out of here and help my family out," she said

Maureen Mwende - Machakos Chief Officer in the department of Education, who showed up in place of Governor Wavinya, said that it was a great achievement for Equity Group for offering full scholarship to the 8 from students from Machakos Town Sub-county and Generally 32 students from Machakos County.
Samuel Bengi - Machakos County Director of Education representative , who was also the chief guest, installed wisdom to the beneficiaries , asking them to take courage and thank God for the opportunity. He also challenged them to make sure they work hard for it's the only way to appreciate Equity Group. #radatvupdates
