Machakos Wiper Nominated MCA Hellen Ndeti has urged parents to protect their children from raging waters, occasioned by the ongoing heavy rains in most parts of the country.
Speaking to RADA TV KENYA on Tuesday, MCA Hellen Ndeti warned parents that since the children have closed schools for the April holiday, they should keep safeguarding and stop them from loitering along the rivers and bridges.
"Schools are now closed. Kindly keep good watch on your children. Don't let them loiter around rivers"- Said Hellen Ndeti
“I have noted that several kids are loitering around the bridges & rivers. Kindly stop your children to prevent the risk of them drowning ," added Ndeti
Directing her address to the children, MCA Hellen Ndeti urged them to keep themselves busy with revision and working on assignments, instead of loitering in markets and rivers.
She called on Kenyans to use the available rain water to plant more trees to help mitigate climate change effects.
"We now have plenty or natural water from rains. Kindly let's plant more trees. This will help fight climate change effects and green Kenya"
Moreover, Ndeti called for unity of leaders, specifically in Machakos, saying that it's through unity and togetherness, service delivery will be easily achieved.
