Mbooni Member of National Assembly (MNA) Hon. Kivasu Nzioka is set to issue Women Enterprise Fund cheques worth Kshs 2.6 million to seven women groups in a bid to enhance women-led economic empowerment in the constituency.
The cheque issuance ceremony is scheduled for Monday, 14th April 2025, at Tawa Social Hall, beginning at 9:00 a.m. All seven beneficiary groups are expected to attend, where they will be recognized for their entrepreneurial efforts and contribution to community development.
Speaking ahead of the event, Hon. Kivasu affirmed his commitment to supporting women in business, stating, “Empowering women economically is key to building stronger families and a more inclusive society. This fund helps create real impact at the grassroots.”
In addition to the cheque presentation, newly formed women groups that have not yet benefitted from the fund will also participate in a vital training session. The training aims to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to access and properly utilize the fund in future cycles.
Hon. Kivasu encouraged all participants to take full advantage of the opportunity, emphasizing that economic empowerment is a cornerstone of sustainable development in Mbooni.
