Distribution of the relief food is scheduled to commence tomorrow at the Deputy County Commissioner’s (DCC) office. The process will be conducted under the supervision of the Relief Food Committee, chaired by DCC James Chacha, to ensure fairness and transparency.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that no child goes hungry while pursuing an education,” said Hon. Basil. “Access to food is a basic right and a key factor in improving concentration and performance in schools.”
The MP emphasized that the school feeding program is critical, especially during these tough economic times, and reaffirmed his dedication to working closely with both national and local authorities to secure additional resources for education and community welfare.
Parents, school heads, and local leaders have lauded the move, saying it will greatly improve pupil attendance and retention in schools across the constituency.
The food distribution effort comes as part of broader interventions being led by Hon. Basil to uplift education standards and safeguard the wellbeing of children in Yatta.
