MP Mwengi Mutuse to Revive Pastors’ Training Programme at Makindu Bible College

Kibwezi West MP Hon. Mwengi Mutuse, OGW,has announced that he will revive a programme to sponsor the training of pastors at Makindu Bible College, in a move aimed at strengthening faith-based leadership and community development across the region.

Hon. Mutuse said the initiative will support pastors seeking theological training and leadership development, noting that well-equipped clergy play a critical role in promoting moral values, social cohesion, and peaceful coexistence within society.
The programme, which he previously sponsored, will once again cater for the training of pastors from Kibwezi West and neighbouring areas. It will prioritise committed and needy clergy, enabling them to access formal Bible college education and practical ministry skills.

He said the decision to revive the programme is inspired by the legacy of the late Pastor Lady Regina Mutuku, whose life and ministry exemplified humility, faith, and dedication to service. Pastor Regina was a beneficiary of the earlier programme and went on to serve faithfully under the Good News Church of Africa.

Hon. Mutuse spoke while attending the funeral service of Pastor Lady Regina Mutuku in Kikauni, Makindu Ward. He conveyed his condolences to her husband, Rev. Samson Mutuku Mang’au, the immediate and extended family, the church fraternity, and congregants from across the region.

He noted that the large turnout of clergy, church members, and community members at the funeral, as well as the testimonies shared, were a clear reflection of Pastor Regina’s impact and the respect she earned through her service.

The Kibwezi West MP reaffirmed that the focus of leadership must remain on meaningful development initiatives rather than empty rhetoric, adding that partnerships with faith institutions remain key to transforming communities.

He concluded by expressing hope that the revived training programme will nurture a new generation of well-grounded pastors who will continue to serve with integrity and dedication.
