A Whistleblower has issued a stern public warning to blogger and social media commentator Bob Ndolo over what is described as sustained and reckless attacks against Kisumu City Manager Abala Wanga, cautioning that continued publication of unverified claims could attract serious consequences.
In a detailed statement, the whistleblower accused Ndolo of moving beyond the realm of opinion and into what was termed deliberate reputational damage, alleging that his repeated commentary targeting Mr. Wanga reflects malice rather than truth or public interest.
The statement claimed that Ndolo’s pattern of commentary is already well known within accountability circles and suggested that his continued focus on Mr. Wanga has raised concerns about intent and credibility. According to the whistleblower, the blogger’s actions have created the perception of a personal vendetta rather than objective scrutiny.
It was further disclosed that Ndolo had previously been formally notified, through official channels, and asked to retract the disputed statements and issue an apology.
However, the whistleblower stated that Ndolo ignored the demand, a move described as deliberate and calculated.
“Silence in the face of a lawful demand does not erase responsibility; it compounds it,” the statement read.
The whistleblower referenced a recent Milimani Commercial Courts ruling in which the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board was ordered to pay KSh 5 million in damages to Abala Wanga over defamatory publications.
The ruling was cited as a clear indication that false narratives and character attacks attract heavy penalties.
According to the statement, the decision reinforces the message that activism, whistleblowing, or online commentary does not provide immunity when allegations are made without supporting evidence.
“Character assassination disguised as activism will not be tolerated,” the whistleblower warned, adding that those who persist in publishing unsubstantiated claims may eventually be required to defend them under oath.
The whistleblower cautioned that continued attacks on Mr. Wanga’s character could result in a situation where Ndolo would be compelled to substantiate his claims before an appropriate forum, where evidence—not rhetoric—would determine the outcome.
“Social media platforms and backroom conversations offer no refuge when accountability is demanded,” the statement read
The warning concluded by stressing that while justice may take time, it remains precise and decisive once triggered, describing the statement as a final reminder to the blogger.
