KAITI MP - JOSHUA KIMILU DISTRIBUTES FOOD TO OVER 405 PEOPLE AFFECTED BY El- Nino RAINS

Joshua Kimilu - Kaiti Constituency MP in Makueni County, plans to introduce a bill in parliament to establish an emergency fund from the National Government Constituency Fund (NG-CDF) to aid those affected by disasters. 

The proposed fund would allow MPs to supplement government and partner efforts in responding to emerging disasters, such as the current El Nino rains in Makueni County.

Kimilu distributed food items to over 405 people affected by the El Nino rains and assured them that he would replace window panes in classrooms to minimise the cold. 

The affected families were mainly from Kyang’aa and Mutuyu villages in Kilungu Ward and Itaa village in Ilima Ward. 

The MP also visited the Katulye evacuation camp and distributed similar food to displaced families.

He urged residents to remain vigilant during the rainy season and warned against crossing flooded rivers.

He appealed to residents in mudslide-prone areas to move to safer grounds or camps. #radatvupdates
