Mwingi West MP Charles Ngusya Nguna, popularly known as CNN, is really concerned with some of the decisions Kenyans make during election time. In his personal views, each word echoing the sentiments he has been carrying in his heart for years, the second-term legislator wondered that Kibaki left a healthy economy and as for now, nothing to be proud of the current regime over the country's ceaseless kakistocracy.
Kenya has reached a point whereby we have to finance for loan repayments up to 80% of revenue collected , all those 12 years the current president has been in presidency as much as I appreciate what Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime did in terms of infrastructure, security, transition in education and Health care.
Hon CNN remembered how he had seen the transformation, the optimism that swept through Kenya during those years of Kibaki's leadership. The promise of progress, the spirit of unity was overwhelming. However, the rain started beating us in 2013 when President Kibaki exited the stage. Hon CNN fears his thoughts drifting to darker times. The promises of the past seemed to fade as the country navigates uncertain waters, caught in the storm of overpriced projects and mounting debts. He sighed, reflecting on the choices that led Kenya down this path. "Why did you reject men who transformed the economy?" asked the MP, tinged with frustration. Hon Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga — names etched in Kenya's political history, architects of prosperity in times past. Kenyans are the architects of their own miseries. He wasn't just speaking to others but also to himself, grappling with the complexities of democracy and the weight of unpopular decisions. He said that he has noticed a group of young Kenyans, the "Gen Z", gathering nearby.
Their faces are illuminated by the glow of smartphones, voices filled with passion and determination. The Mwingi West MP believes that Gen Z are the beacon, the promise of a new dawn for Kenya. Time has come with new challenges, but also opportunities for change.
