Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo - Machakos Deputy Governor, has fingered ODM leader, Raila Odinga over his party's move to join the Kenya Kwanza government through appointment of several (ODM) party members into the Cabinet.
Addressing the faithful at AIC Kariobangi in Machakos town during a worship service, Mwangangi termed Raila's move a serious affront to democracy and the constitution.
"It is either you are in the government full time or in the opposition. You cannot fit in as the leader of the opposition while still dining with the government," said Mwangangi.
The DG said Raila's actions amounted to betrayal on the many Kenyans who came out in the streets to carry out anti-government demonstrations.
"The issue of government of national unity was not part of Gen Zs' grievances . There was nothing like bringing the country together because Kenyans in their wisdom voted Kenya Kwanza. Inviting the opposition into the cabinet is killing democracy," said the DG.
Mwangangi urged the christians to keep the country in prayers, saying at that rate the opposition will be completely muzzled.
"We need people who will be able to check the excesses of the government," he said.
The DG also called for the speedy constitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in order to pave the way for electoral units that are not represented to hold elections.
