Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo has extended a helping hand to a needy resident by settling her hospital bill, allowing her to reunite with her family after two months of hospitalization.
Mbatha Kingoo, a resident of Kyeni Village in Katangi, had been admitted for medical treatment but was unable to clear her bill, leading to a prolonged stay in the hospital. In an act of goodwill, the Deputy Governor stepped in to ensure her release and recovery.
"When we lift others, we build a stronger society for all of us. I am privileged to have cleared the hospital bill for my good neighbor, Mbatha Kingoo. I wish her a quick recovery and good health," said Mr. Mwangangi.
The gesture has been widely praised by residents and leaders, highlighting the importance of community support in ensuring access to healthcare. Many have lauded the Deputy Governor’s intervention as a demonstration of compassionate leadership.
As the county government continues to prioritize healthcare, this move underscores the need for sustainable solutions to assist vulnerable residents who struggle with medical expenses.
