MEMA AFRICA, BANDUNG AFRICA AND HOMEBOYZ INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SIGN LANDMARK PACT TO DRIVE PAN-AFRICAN CREATIVE ECONOMY

MEMA Africa has taken a major step toward strengthening Africa's creative and cultural industries following the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bandung Africa Organization and the Homeboyz Institute of Technology, marking the birth of a transformative Pan-African Creative Economy Partnership.

The agreement, signed today, brings together three influential institutions under a shared vision of promoting African creativity, innovation, talent development, and economic empowerment across the continent.

The partnership was signed by MEMA Africa Executive Director Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, MBS; Bandung Africa Organization leader Judge D. Peter Herbert O.B.E. (Ret'd); and Homeboyz Institute of Technology CEO Michael Rabar.

The strategic alliance seeks to create new opportunities for African creatives by advancing policy advocacy, strengthening educational and training programmes, mobilizing investments into the creative sector, and promoting technology-driven innovation within Africa's rapidly growing creative economy.

Under the agreement, the three organizations will work collaboratively to develop programmes that empower artists, content creators, innovators, cultural practitioners, and young entrepreneurs by equipping them with skills, networks, and platforms necessary to compete on the global stage.

The partnership will also focus on fostering cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and the recognition of excellence through awards and continental initiatives aimed at celebrating African talent and achievements.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to positioning Africa's creative industry as a major economic pillar capable of creating jobs, generating wealth, preserving cultural heritage, and enhancing Africa's influence globally.

The collaboration is anchored on the vision of "One Platform, One Africa," emphasizing unity, inclusivity, and collective action in unlocking the immense potential of Africa's creative sector.

The agreement takes effect immediately, with the partners expected to roll out several joint programmes and continental campaigns in the coming months, targeting youth empowerment, skills development, creative innovation, and cross-border collaborations.

The historic signing ceremony was witnessed by senior officials and stakeholders from the creative and advocacy sectors, including MEMA Africa Directors Dr. Mugambi Muku, Erick Binges, and Immaculate Onyoni, alongside members of the MEMA Africa Secretariat.

Also present was MEMA Africa Next Generation Ambassador and two-time world record holder, environmental champion Truphena Muthoni, accompanied by her management team led by Peter Njagi, Executive Director of Parliamentary Climate Advocacy.

Other distinguished attendees included Faith Nyaboke, Duke Baraka, and members of the media team led by Trudy Kitui. Representatives from the Bandung Africa Organization, including Loise, Veronica, and Anastasia Auma, also attended the event.

The partnership is expected to serve as a catalyst for deeper continental integration within the creative sector and establish a sustainable framework for nurturing African talent, promoting innovation, and accelerating the growth of Africa's creative economy.
