Governor Wavinya, DG Mwangangi Commissions Rehabilitated Lower Bondoni Borehole to Curb Water Shortages

Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti and Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi have today commissioned the newly rehabilitated Lower Bondoni Borehole in Kangundo Central Ward, bringing renewed hope to residents who have long struggled with access to clean water.

The borehole, which had stalled for a period of time, has now been restored and is expected to significantly improve water supply in the area.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi emphasized the county’s commitment to reviving all stalled water projects.

“We have commissioned the rehabilitated Lower Bondoni Borehole to ensure residents have access to clean and reliable water. This is part of a wider plan to bring to life other stalled boreholes across the county,” said Mwangangi.

“Water is life, and our administration is focused on delivering this basic need to all our people.”

Governor Wavinya Ndeti reiterated her government’s focus on improving service delivery and ensuring no community is left behind.

“We promised the people of Machakos better services, and we are delivering. Rehabilitating stalled projects like this borehole is proof that we are walking the talk,” said Governor Wavinya.

“Access to water is not a privilege — it's a right. We are committed to ensuring every household in this county has that right fulfilled.”
