The Member of National Assembly for Mbooni Constituency, Hon. Kivasu Nzioka, today presided over the issuance of bursary cheques totaling Ksh. 64 million in a colourful function held at Kakuswi Playgrounds.
Accompanied by the First Lady Juliana Kivasu, Hon. Kivasu Nzioka oversaw the disbursement that is set to benefit 12,479 students drawn from 873 institutions. The beneficiaries include learners in secondary schools, universities, colleges, technical institutes, and special schools, both within and beyond the constituency.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Kivasu reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to enhancing access to quality education for all students in Mbooni. He emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of personal and community transformation, stating,
“Education is the way maker.”
He encouraged parents to remain actively involved in their children’s academic journeys and urged students to stay focused, disciplined, and hardworking. “Education is the key to unlocking opportunities,” he noted.
The bursary distribution, under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), is among the largest allocations in the region this year and underscores the MP’s resolve to empower families and promote education equity.
“This is part of our long-term vision for a knowledgeable and prosperous Mbooni. No child should be left behind because of financial challenges,” Hon. Kivasu added.
The event drew hundreds of residents, education stakeholders, and local leaders, all lauding the move as a step forward in transforming lives through education
