In a major infrastructural boost aimed at improving safety and stimulating economic activity, Kaiti Member of Parliament Hon. Joshua Kimilu has announced the installation of 30-meter-high floodlights in Wautu, Kalongo, and Kivani markets.
The lighting project, which is already underway, is part of the MP’s broader development agenda to uplift local communities by creating safer and more conducive environments for business and social interactions.
“This initiative aims to enhance security, promote economic activities, and improve overall safety for residents and traders,” said Hon. Kimilu. “It will contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the communities around these key markets.”
The floodlights are expected to extend trading hours, reduce crime rates, and offer better visibility at night, which is crucial for both market operations and public safety. Local traders have welcomed the project, saying it will significantly improve their livelihoods by enabling them to operate longer and attract more customers.
Hon. Kimilu has been emphasizing that his leadership remains committed to delivering people-centered development that addresses real community needs. He called on residents to take ownership of the infrastructure and ensure its protection and sustainability.
The lighting project marks another milestone in the transformation of Kaiti Constituency under Hon. Kimilu’s stewardship, reflecting a focused effort to empower rural economies and improve the quality of life for all.
