Speaking during a burial ceremony in Kamuthanga, Munyaka declared he had officially severed ties with Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration, citing what he termed as betrayal of public trust and a drift towards authoritarianism.
“President Ruto is too proud to listen. His leadership is defined by threats, bloodshed, and lies,” Munyaka charged. “When he ordered police to shoot our youth in the legs, he confirmed what I feared — that we are being led by a man with killer instincts.”The former legislator, who once campaigned fiercely for Ruto, listed five damning accusations for his fallout:
- Ruto is a liar
- Ruto is a killer
- Ruto is an abductor
- Ruto is a thief
- Ruto is tribalistic (mmkabila
Munyaka said he could no longer support a regime that thrives on fear and deception, adding that Kenya needs a humble and people-centered leader.
He urged Kenyans to support Kalonzo Musyoka in the upcoming 2027 General Election, describing the Wiper Party boss as a seasoned, peaceful, and integrity-driven leader.
“Let us unite behind Kalonzo. He is Kenya’s best hope for restoration of justice and national healing,” he said. The remarks have since sparked intense online debate, with Kenyans sharply divided over Munyaka’s bold declarations. His defection marks a significant shift in Ukambani politics and adds to the growing realignments ahead of the 2027 contest.
