GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO WORLD-CLASS SERVICES AT JKIA

The government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) retains its position as a leading regional aviation hub through professionalism, efficiency, and world-class service delivery.

During a walkabout tour of JKIA, Principal Secretary Terry Mbaika underscored the government’s focus on enhancing the airport’s capacity and improving service standards. She noted that under the leadership of President William Samoei Ruto, the government is determined to modernize facilities, streamline operations, and create a seamless experience for both passengers and airlines.

The tour was aimed at assessing current operations, identifying challenges, and reviewing areas requiring improvement to boost efficiency. The PS emphasized the importance of collaboration among key stakeholders in the aviation sector, including regulatory authorities, airport managers, and airline operators, in order to maintain JKIA’s competitive edge.

Among those who joined the tour were Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Director General Mr. Emile Arao, Acting Kenya Airports Authority Managing Director Mr. Mohammed Gedi, Kenya Airways Managing Director Mr. Allan Kilavuka, as well as representatives from other airlines. The team inspected various sections of the airport, focusing on passenger handling, security processes, and operational coordination between agencies.

PS Mbaika assured travelers that the government is prioritizing customer experience and operational excellence, adding that JKIA’s growth is central to Kenya’s economic development and regional connectivity. She reaffirmed that consistent investment in infrastructure, technology, and staff training will be critical in elevating JKIA to global standards.

The walkabout comes at a time when Kenya is positioning itself as a strategic gateway into Africa, with JKIA playing a pivotal role in boosting tourism, trade, and investment.
