Yatta MP Robert Basil Boosts School Feeding Programme with Major Food Donation

Yatta Member of Parliament Robert Basil has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and education of children by donating 260 bags of beans and 300 bags of rice to support the School Feeding Programme within the constituency.

Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Basil emphasized that access to nutritious meals is a critical foundation for effective learning. He noted that hunger remains a major barrier to education, often affecting school attendance, concentration, and overall academic performance among pupils.

“A well-fed child is a focused learner. By ensuring our pupils have access to nutritious meals, we are improving attendance, enhancing concentration in class, and creating an environment where every child has a fair chance to succeed,” he said.

The MP described the programme as more than a food donation, terming it an investment in dignity, opportunity, and the future of the community. He highlighted that school feeding initiatives not only support learning outcomes but also ease the burden on vulnerable families, especially in areas affected by economic hardship.
