Aspiring Kangundo MP for 2027, Hon. Stella Nzembi, has stepped up her grassroots empowerment efforts by supporting a widows’ group in Kangundo North Ward with financial assistance aimed at boosting their economic resilience.
On her latest community engagement, Hon. Nzembi presented KSh 100,000 to the Muuo wa Aka widows’ group. The funds are set to strengthen their table banking initiative, which provides members with access to small loans and a platform for sustainable income-generating activities.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Nzembi said the gesture was part of her long-term vision to empower vulnerable groups across Kangundo. She noted that widows often face multiple challenges in providing for their families, and such initiatives offer them a lifeline to become financially independent.
“This is more than just financial support—it is an investment in dignity, self-reliance, and community development. By empowering widows, we uplift entire households and strengthen our society,” she said.
The aspiring legislator underscored the effectiveness of table banking as a grassroots economic model, highlighting its role in enhancing financial literacy, fostering savings culture, and enabling women to pool resources for collective growth.
Hon. Nzembi also assured residents that her leadership will prioritize empowerment programs that are inclusive and sustainable. She emphasized that development must begin at the community level, where ordinary citizens are directly impacted.
As she prepares her bid for the 2027 elections, Hon. Nzembi reiterated her commitment to a people-first agenda, urging Kangundo residents to rally together in building a stronger and more empowered constituency.
