The County Government of Machakos has announced a re-organization of its executive leadership aimed at aligning service delivery with the county’s development priorities.
In a circular issued by County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dr. Muya Ndambuki three County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and two Chief Officers were reassigned new portfolios with immediate effect.
Key changes include:
Onesmus Muia Kuyu, formerly in charge of Finance, Economic Planning, Revenue Management & ICT, will now head the Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Environment and Climate Change docket.
Catherine Mutanu Raphael, who previously led Agriculture, Food Security, Livestock and Cooperative Development, has been moved to Finance, Economic Planning, Revenue Management & ICT.
Rita Ndunge Ndunda, formerly in charge of Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Environment and Climate Change, will now oversee Agriculture, Food Security, Livestock and Cooperative Development.
At the Chief Officers level:
Benson Metho has been reassigned from Environment and Natural Resources to handle a Special Assignment portfolio.
Vincent Musili, previously in charge of Industry and Innovation, has been moved to Energy and Rural Electrification.
Dr. Ndambuki noted that the changes take effect immediately, with affected officers expected to conduct proper handovers in line with established procedures.
The reshuffle is seen as part of Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s strategy to streamline operations and enhance efficiency in delivering critical services to the people of Machakos.
