‘Nobody is Against National Government Projects in Machakos,’ Says Governor Wavinya

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has dismissed claims that the Kamba Community Leaders have been blocking National Government projects in Ukambani. 

Speaking on Sunday after attending a service at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Masinga, Governor Wavinya affirmed that her government remains open and committed to working closely with the State to ensure residents benefit from ongoing and future projects.

She said Machakos has already provided land for the construction of modern markets and submitted a list of priority roads and other infrastructure projects to the National Government for consideration and support.

Governor Wavinya emphasized that her focus is on collaboration and progress, not political confrontation. “Nobody is against the work of the National Government. What we need is continuity and commitment to ensure the people of Lower Eastern see tangible development,” she stated.

The Governor highlighted the importance of infrastructure, particularly roads, in unlocking the economic potential of Machakos and neighboring counties. She noted that improved connectivity would not only boost trade but also ease access to healthcare, education, and job opportunities.

Wavinya further urged leaders from across the Lower Eastern region to put aside political differences and unite in support of State-led initiatives, saying that unity of purpose is essential in pushing for faster implementation of projects.

She concluded by assuring Machakos residents that her administration will continue to complement the work of the National Government, adding that her priority remains delivering meaningful progress and improved livelihoods for all.
