Makueni Gubernatorial aspirant Prof. Philip Kaloki has called for political tolerance and respectful engagement among leaders as the county moves closer to the 2027 elections, reiterating his determination to serve the people once elected.
Prof. Kaloki made the remarks during the burial of former Kiteta/Kisau Ward Councillor Oscar Musau Kalia at Kakuswi village in Mbooni, where leaders and residents gathered to honour the late civic leader.
The ceremony was attended by Senator Daniel Maanzo, Mbooni MP Erastus Kivasu, county government officials, and MCAs led by Majority Leader Kisungi Katete.
In his address, Prof. Kaloki stressed the need for unity and tolerance, noting that development can only flourish in an environment free from political hostility.
“As we head toward 2027, we must cultivate political tolerance. Democracy allows us to differ, but our disagreements should never divide us. We owe our people peaceful and progressive politics,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to take up the leadership of Makueni County, promising a focused, inclusive, and people-centered administration once elected Governor.
“I remain fully committed to serving the people of Makueni with integrity and determination. My resolve for 2027 is strong, and I will work with all leaders and citizens to build a united and prosperous county,” Prof. Kaloki affirmed.
With the festive season ongoing, Prof. Kaloki also urged parents and guardians to safeguard the well-being of their children.
“Let us be vigilant and take care of our children this holiday season. They need our guidance, protection, and love,” he emphasized.
Prof. Kaloki concluded by wishing Makueni residents a peaceful and joyful festive period.
“May this Christmas season bring unity, joy, and blessings to every home in Makueni,” he said.
The late Oscar Kalia was fondly remembered for his humility, integrity, and years of dedicated public service.
