Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has lauded residents across all sub-counties for their overwhelming participation in the public engagement forums on the Machakos County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) and the Medium-Term Budget for the Financial Years 2026/2027–2028/2029.
In a statement following the conclusion of the countywide exercise, Governor Wavinya Ndeti said the large turnout and the quality of views shared by residents reflect a deep commitment to the development agenda of Machakos County and the strengthening of democratic governance at the grassroots.
“I sincerely thank the residents of all sub-counties of Machakos County for turning out in large numbers to share their views and proposals during the public participation process. Your active involvement demonstrates your commitment to the development of our county and strengthens our democratic process,” said Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The Governor emphasized that public participation remains a cornerstone of her administration, noting that citizen input is critical in shaping policies, priorities, and resource allocation that respond to the real needs of the people.
She assured residents that all memoranda, proposals, and recommendations presented during the forums have been carefully documented and will inform the county’s planning and budgeting processes.
“I want to assure the people of Machakos that your contributions have been carefully noted and will be implemented as we roll out our plans and priorities for the financial years 2026/2027–2028/2029,” she said.
Governor Ndeti added that the inclusive budget-making process is aimed at ensuring equitable development across the county, improved service delivery, and prudent use of public resources. She noted that the views gathered will help align county programmes with the aspirations of residents in key sectors such as health, infrastructure, water, agriculture, education, and youth empowerment.
She further reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-driven development, saying the county’s growth agenda can only be achieved through continuous engagement with citizens.
“Together, we are shaping a county that truly reflects the aspirations of its people,” Governor Ndeti said.
The public participation forums were held across all sub-counties as part of the statutory requirements in the preparation of the County Fiscal Strategy Paper and the Medium-Term Budget, reinforcing Machakos County’s commitment to participatory governance and inclusive development.
