Following years of sustained lobbying and engagement at the highest levels of government, Principal Secretary Teresia Mbaika-CBS has secured the long-awaited tarmacking of the Kyaambeke–Kikuswi–Mumbuni–Kyuasini–Ukia (Bridge) Road, with works now set to commence, bringing relief and renewed hope to residents of Kaiti.
Announcing the milestone, PS Mbaika said the move marks a decisive shift from decades of unfulfilled political promises to tangible, scheduled delivery.
“I am delighted to announce that the tarmacking of this road is now a reality in planning and execution. As the people of Kaiti, our hearts are full,” she said.
The Principal Secretary noted that the road had for years been used as a campaign talking point, but only materialized after deliberate lobbying, follow-ups, and alignment with the national development agenda.
“For decades, this road existed only in speeches. Today, we are changing the narrative from slogans to scorecards. Our people deserve development, not empty promises,” PS Mbaika emphasized
She thanked H.E. President William Samoei Ruto for listening to the concerns raised and approving the project, describing the move as a clear demonstration of responsive and accountable leadership.
Once commenced and completed, the upgraded road is expected to significantly boost economic activity by improving connectivity between Kaiti and Ukia, easing movement of goods and people, lowering transport costs, and improving access to essential services.
PS Mbaika reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivery, accountability, and measurable impact under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“Indeed, The Plan is well on course,” she said.
Residents have welcomed the announcement, terming it a long-overdue breakthrough and a testament to the impact of consistent advocacy and results-driven leadership.
