Robert Ngui Basil - MP , Yatta Constituency has urged Kenyans not to cross swollen rivers during the ongoing rains.
Speaking to RADA TV KENYA on Monday, Basil warned Kenyans to heed a government advisory against attempting to cross swollen rivers, especially during this rainy season.
He cautioned motorists against crossing flooded rivers, saying they'll be risking their lives and that of their passengers.
He called on Kenyans to always wait until water levels drop to normal before attempting to cross flooded rivers.
"I'm calling on all Kenyans. Let's be cautious when crossing rivers. Let's not cross swollen rivers. Don't risk your lives.To all drivers, be cautious when crossing rivers. Don't risk your lives and that of your passengers , " said Basil
The MP , Robert Basil, also asked parents to protect their children from raging waters, occasioned by the ongoing heavy rains.
He indeed warned parents that since their children have closed schools for the April holiday, they should keep safeguarding and stop them from loitering along the rivers and bridges.
