Felix Mambo, an associate of Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, has been charged with allegedly publishing false statements about Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti. Appearing before Mavoko Chief Magistrate Barbara Ojoo on Monday, Mambo pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecution claims that Mambo posted remarks on social media that could incite public panic or unrest, violating Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act of 2018. The court documents referenced a post attributed to Mambo, stating, "Only Wavinya and her son can substantiate bro. Mimi na wewe tuko Kathangaita wao wanakula raha UK," implying the governor and her son were enjoying themselves abroad while others stayed behind.
Mambo was granted release on a Ksh 200,000 cash bail or a Ksh 300,000 bond with a surety of the same amount. Governor Wavinya Ndeti is the complainant in the case, with her son, Charles Oduwole, and Machakos County Secretary, Muya Ndambuki, as key witnesses. The case is set for mention on November 18. #radatvnews #radatvkenya #radatvupdates #trendingpost
