Speaking to the media, Kyule claimed Kalonzo's decision to forward two names — Augustus Muli and Dr. Koki Muli — from the Wiper Party has caused unnecessary confusion, stalling the process of appointing new IEBC commissioners.
“This confusion has dragged the entire process. Kalonzo must resolve this issue immediately so that by early January 2025, we can have a functional IEBC in place,” Kyule stated.
The Grand Dreams Development Party (GDDP) leader also expressed frustration over perceived marginalization of the Ukambani region in national appointments.
“In the past, we have consistently supported Raila Odinga, but when he secures political goals, he opts for handshakes and forgets this region. Recently, Raila's allies were awarded four Cabinet slots, but Kalonzo’s region got nothing,” he said.
Kyule further compared this to the post-handshake appointments of Jubilee allies during the Uhuru-Ruto era, highlighting figures like Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui, and Ababu Namwamba who landed key roles, while the Ukambani region was sidelined.
The MP called on Kalonzo to focus on securing tangible benefits for the people of Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni.
“Kalonzo must stop following leaders like Rigathi Gachagua, who recently demanded that Kalonzo deliver four million votes before being allowed at the negotiation table. This is demeaning to our leader and our region,” Kyule emphasized.
He urged Kalonzo and other leaders from the Ukambani region to push for representation in key government positions, including ministries, parastatals, and ambassadorial roles, to drive development in areas like roads, electricity, and water projects.
Kyule also took the opportunity to caution drivers and road users to exercise caution during the festive season. #radatvkenya #radatvnews #radatvupdates
