In a significant boost to women’s economic empowerment, Mbooni Member of Parliament Hon. Kivasu Nzioka, accompanied by First Lady Juliana Kivasu, has disbursed Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) cheques amounting to Ksh 2.15 million. The funds were issued to five women groups during a ceremony held at Kikima Social Hall.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kivasu emphasized his commitment to uplifting women in Mbooni through sustainable financial support. “Women are the backbone of our society, and by empowering them economically, we are securing the future of our families and community at large,” he stated.
The Women Enterprise Fund aims to provide affordable credit to women entrepreneurs, enabling them to expand their businesses and create employment opportunities. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, noting that the financial support will go a long way in improving their ventures.
First Lady Juliana Kivasu lauded the initiative, urging women to utilize the funds wisely to foster growth and self-reliance. “This is an opportunity to strengthen your businesses and contribute to the economic development of our constituency,” she said.
Hon. Kivasu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to advancing empowerment programs and called on more women to take advantage of available government support.
The disbursement marks another milestone in the MP’s ongoing efforts to promote economic inclusion and financial independence for women in Mbooni.
