Preparations for the official opening of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Matuu campus in Yatta are in the final stages following an inspection visit by Yatta MP Hon. Robert Basil.
Hon. Basil toured the institution to assess the progress of ongoing installations and ensure the facility is fully equipped to accommodate students. Key areas of focus during the visit included the installation of computers in learning labs, restoration of electricity, and the completion of critical amenities such as toilets and water supply systems.
During his visit, the MP also held a brief meeting with college officials and contractors, urging them to expedite the remaining works ahead of the grand opening. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to improving education infrastructure in Yatta, emphasizing the importance of a well-equipped learning environment for medical students.
"My dedication to enhancing education facilities in Yatta remains steadfast. KMTC Matuu is a major milestone in our journey to expand access to medical training, and we are ensuring that all necessary systems are in place for students to learn effectively," said Hon. Basil.
The KMTC Matuu campus, once officially launched, is expected to provide quality medical training opportunities for students in Yatta and beyond. This development will not only improve access to healthcare education but also contribute to the region’s healthcare workforce, ultimately benefiting the local community.
