“I urge all leaders, whether at the national or county level, to work diligently for the people who elected them. Leadership is about service, and we must be accountable to the electorate,” he stated.
Waita, who vied for the Machakos governorship in 2022, emphasized the need for effective governance, transparency, and accountability, noting that many leaders often neglect their pledges once in office.
“The people of Machakos deserve leaders who will not only promise but also deliver. I remain committed to ensuring better governance, development, and service delivery for our county,” he added.
He further expressed concerns over unfulfilled development promises and urged Machakos residents to remain vigilant and demand accountability from their leaders.
“Our county has great potential, but it requires visionary leadership. I believe Machakos can achieve more with the right policies and dedication to the people’s needs,” he remarked.
His announcement has already sparked discussions in Machakos political circles, with many anticipating a heated contest in 2027. Political analysts predict that Waita’s bid could shake up the county’s political landscape, especially considering his performance in the 2022 elections.
As the 2027 election nears, Waita promised to engage more with residents across the county to outline his development agenda and vision for Machakos.
“I am ready to serve, and I will be taking my message to the people, listening to their needs, and working together to build a better Machakos,” he concluded.
With the political climate gradually taking shape, Waita’s declaration marks the beginning of what is expected to be an intense gubernatorial race in Machakos County.
