Annastacia Muendo Condemns Disrespect Shown to President Ruto During Migori Event

Former Yatta MP aspirant Hon. Annastacia Muthini Muendo has publicly condemned the shoe-throwing incident that disrupted President William Ruto’s address in Migori County, terming it a clear act of disrespect toward the presidency.

In a firm statement, Hon. Muendo emphasized the importance of upholding the dignity of national institutions, regardless of political differences.

“The PRESIDENCY stands as a symbol of national unity—regardless of your personal feelings toward the individual occupying the seat,” she said. “That institution plays a critical role in our national security and it's not something to be taken lightly, especially when countless lives hang in the balance.”

Calling the Migori incident “absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and WRONG,” Muendo urged citizens to express their political views peacefully and to respect the offices that serve as pillars of the nation's governance.

She warned that allowing such acts of public disorder sends the wrong message and could weaken the democratic values Kenyans have fought to uphold.
“We must reject any form of behavior that undermines our institutions. What happened in Migori was not just a moment of disruption—it was a threat to the respect we owe our democracy,” she added.

The moment, which was caught on video and widely circulated.
