HON. MWENGI MUTUSE INSPECTS PROGRESS OF MAKINDU ESP MARKET, CALLS FOR FAST-TRACKED COMPLETION

Kibwezi West MP Hon. Mwengi Mutuse, OGW, today inspected the ongoing construction of the Makindu ESP Market, a key project aimed at uplifting traders and small-scale business owners in the area.

During the site visit, the legislator expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far but urged the contractor to expedite the works to ensure timely completion. He emphasized that the market is not just an infrastructure project but a direct investment in the livelihoods of local traders.

Hon. Mutuse noted that the project will especially benefit mama mboga, who have for long operated in difficult and undignified conditions. He stressed that once completed, the market will provide a safe, modern, and decent working environment, improving both their businesses and customer experience.

The MP underscored the government’s commitment to empowering small-scale traders by creating spaces that encourage entrepreneurship and economic growth. He pointed out that the market will serve as a hub for local produce and goods, boosting trade in Makindu and beyond.

He further called on the contractor to adhere to quality standards while accelerating construction, reminding them that accountability and service to wananchi remain the priority. Hon. Mutuse said he will continue conducting routine inspections to ensure that taxpayers’ money is put to proper use.

The legislator assured the residents of Kibwezi West that more development projects are in the pipeline, aligning with his broader vision of transforming the constituency into an economic powerhouse. He appealed to locals to continue supporting government initiatives and remain patient as the market nears completion.
