Speaking in Nairobi earlier today, Eng. Ngenga, who has declared his intention to challenge Nguna in the 2027 general elections, accused the legislator of abandoning the ideals and leadership of Wiper Democratic Movement Party leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, whom he credited for mentoring and propelling Nguna to political prominence.
“From ashes, Kalonzo made you an MP. Without Wiper, you’re extremely useless,” Ngenga said, adding that Nguna’s growing closeness to President Ruto amounts to open rebellion against the party that gave him a political identity.Ngenga faulted the MP for engaging in what he termed “cheap political handouts” and “photo-op development politics,” alleging that Nguna had abdicated his constitutional role in budget formulation and resource allocation in favor of personal favors from State House.“
Real development doesn’t come from handouts or roadside pledges. It comes from a deliberate budget-making process in Parliament — a process our MP has chosen to neglect for self-serving political survival,” Ngenga stated.
The vocal politician urged Ukambani residents to remain steadfast behind Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka, emphasizing the need to elect “loyal and disciplined foot soldiers” who would strengthen Wiper’s bargaining power on the national stage.“The Kamba community must learn from past mistakes. We need leaders who will walk with Kalonzo through thick and thin, not opportunists who jump ship when they see a short-term benefit,” he added.
Ngenga further challenged the Mwingi West MP to “test his popularity” by contesting on a UDA ticket or as an independent candidate in 2027, predicting a humiliating defeat for him and other perceived defectors.“
If he believes Wiper doesn’t matter, let him face us without Kalonzo’s name or party. He will see how voters respond to betrayal,” he said.
The remarks underscore the growing tension within the Wiper Party, as a section of MPs from the Ukambani region continue to warm up to President Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration — a move seen by party loyalists as undermining Kalonzo’s 2027 presidential ambitions.
