Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Tuesday chaired the 68th Cabinet Meeting of the Nairobi City County Government, convening members of the County Executive Committee to deliberate on key development matters shaping the city’s future.
The meeting, held at City Hall, covered a wide range of issues including urban infrastructure upgrades, waste management reforms, public transport efficiency, youth employment programs, and environmental conservation. The County Cabinet also reviewed progress on flagship projects such as the Sakaja Super Soko markets, the Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Program, and ongoing road and drainage improvements across the city’s sub-counties.
Governor Sakaja reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive city, emphasizing that his government’s policies are anchored on service delivery, transparency, and accountability.
“Our focus remains on practical solutions that directly improve the daily lives of Nairobians — from cleaner neighborhoods and better roads to creating job opportunities for our youth,” the Governor said.
The meeting also underscored the importance of inter-departmental collaboration to fast-track project implementation and ensure equitable development across all wards.
As Nairobi continues to experience rapid urban growth, the County Government’s coordinated approach aims to position the city as a model of sustainable urban management and economic resilience.
