PS TERESIA MBAIKA ANNOUNCES PRESIDENT RUTO’S WEEK-LONG DEVELOPMENT TOUR OF UKAMBANI REGION

Principal Secretary for State Department of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Teresia Mbaika, has announced that President William Ruto will embark on a comprehensive week-long development tour of the Ukambani region, aimed at fast-tracking key infrastructure and socio-economic projects across Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni counties.

PS Mbaika revealed that earlier today, a consultative meeting was held at State House, Nairobi, to finalize preparations for the tour, which is part of the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The visit will focus on the launch and inspection of major road works, affordable housing projects, and other key development initiatives.

The President’s itinerary begins on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, with the launch of the Kwasiku–Migwani–Mbondoni Road Project in Mwingi West, the Zombe–Mwitika Road in Kitui East, and the Kangundo–Mwala Road in Kangundo.

On Friday, October 17, the Head of State will preside over several development functions, including the launch of the Emali–Ukia Road in Kibwezi West, the Ikutha–Mutha Road in Kitui South, the inspection of the Kitui Affordable Housing Project, and the official opening of Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui Central.

The President will attend a church service in Mwingi Central on Sunday, October 19, before leading the nation in Mashujaa Day celebrations on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Ithookwe Stadium, Kitui Town.

On Tuesday, October 21, President Ruto will proceed to Makueni, Mwala, and Machakos, where he will inspect the Wote Affordable Housing Project, launch the Kivandini–Miseleni Road and Mwala Cluster Water Project, and commission the Machakos Affordable Housing Program alongside the Mutituni ESP Market.

The tour will conclude on Wednesday, October 22, in Mwingi North with the launch of the Kandwia–Kamuwongo Road, before the President heads to Kilome to commission the Mikuyu Bridge.

PS Mbaika affirmed that the President’s visit demonstrates the government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable development, ensuring that the people of Ukambani benefit from enhanced infrastructure, job creation, and improved service delivery across the counties.
