Yatta Constituency public schools have received a major boost after the delivery of 260 bags of beans and 300 bags of rice to support the School Feeding Program, strengthening efforts to improve learner welfare and education outcomes across the constituency.
The food support, provided under the leadership of Yatta MP Hon. Robert Basil, is expected to benefit thousands of pupils by ensuring access to regular and nutritious meals—an essential factor in improving concentration, school attendance and academic performance.
The feeding program will play a key role in keeping learners in school, particularly those from vulnerable households. With the additional supplies, schools will be able to sustain meal provision throughout the term.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Basil reaffirmed his commitment to child welfare and quality education, noting that a learner’s well-being is central to meaningful learning and long-term development.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Yatta Constituency leadership to strengthen the education sector through practical, people-centered interventions. As Yatta continues to invest in its children, the enhanced School Feeding Program stands out as a clear step toward nurturing healthy, focused and confident learners.
