Nzioka Waita Calls for Respect Towards Former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua

Former Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Nzioka Waita has urged leaders to accord respect to former Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, who currently serves as a Cabinet Secretary in President William Ruto’s administration.

Speaking during a church service at Salvation Army Kithimani in Matungulu Sub County, Waita emphasized the need for maturity in leadership and cautioned against blame games among leaders.

“Dr. Alfred Mutua deserves respect. He served Machakos diligently for ten years and now he’s serving the country as a Cabinet Secretary. Let us not make it a habit to blame others for our own shortcomings,” said Waita.
Waita, who has expressed interest in contesting for the Machakos gubernatorial seat in 2027, affirmed that even if he assumes leadership, he will continue to respect Mutua’s legacy.

“When I take over as the Governor of Machakos in 2027, I will still respect Dr. Mutua. Leadership should be about work and progress, not personal attacks,” he stated.

He urged current and aspiring leaders to focus on delivering development and improving the lives of the people.

“Let’s focus on what really matters – service delivery and transforming the lives of our people,” he added.

Waita’s remarks come at a time when political rhetoric and finger-pointing have become common in the county’s political circles.
