President Ruto Launches KSh310M Kagio Market, KSh900M Power Connectivity Project

President William Ruto has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the KSh310 million Kagio Market in Kirinyaga County, a modern fresh produce hub set to accommodate 750 traders. The facility will feature an ICT hub aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and fostering business growth.
Speaking at the event, President Ruto emphasized the government's commitment to providing dignified and well-organized workspaces for traders, ensuring that informal businesses transition into the formal economy.

In addition to the market project, the President also launched a KSh500 million Last Mile Connectivity initiative, targeting 6,200 households. He announced that an extra KSh400 million would be allocated in the next phase to extend electricity access to 11,000 homes in the region.
The initiatives are part of the government's broader plan to spur economic growth, enhance digital access, and improve living standards in Kirinyaga County and beyond.
