In a strong show of support for development-focused leadership, Kitui East MP Hon. Nimrod has praised President William Ruto following a high-level meeting with leaders from the Kamba Nation at State House, Nairobi.
Speaking after the engagement, Hon. Nimrod expressed gratitude to the Head of State, hailing the President’s commitment to the Ukambani region as "truly exceptional." He highlighted the Kitui-Zombe-Endau road tarmacking project as one of the key outcomes of the meeting, calling it a long-overdue infrastructure boost that will open up the eastern parts of Kitui County for trade, mobility, and economic growth.
“This is a clear sign that the President is not only listening but also acting on the needs of our people,” said Hon. Nimrod. “The tarmacking of this critical road is now imminent, and we must embrace this as a turning point for Kitui East and the larger Ukambani region.”
The legislator called on fellow leaders to abandon divisive and self-serving politics and instead rally behind initiatives that promise real transformation for their constituents.
“Our focus must now shift to development-oriented politics. It is time to move beyond personal interests and instead embrace collaboration for the benefit of the people,” he noted.
Hon. Nimrod emphasized that the future of Ukambani lies in unity, constructive engagement with the national government, and a shared vision for progress. He urged other elected leaders to rise above partisanship and work together to attract more government attention and investments into the region.
The State House meeting is being seen by many as a strategic move to strengthen relations between the national government and the Ukambani leadership, with promises of increased infrastructure development, economic empowerment programs, and better service delivery.
The people of Kitui East and the larger Ukambani region now look forward with renewed hope, as tangible projects like the Kitui-Zombe-Endau road begin to take shape.
