Kangundo Member of Parliament Hon. Fabian Kyule has called on the Kamba community to shift away from what he termed as the "politics of poverty" and embrace development opportunities being championed by President William Ruto's administration.
Speaking during the Mwala Constituency Economic Empowerment Engagement for Women, Youth and Small-Scale Traders Groups SACCOs held at Kawaya Stadium in Masii, Mwala Constituency, the vocal MP said it is time the region broke free from the long-standing political narrative of "vomwe na vayetwa" — loosely translated as "ours and our own" — which he said has yielded little benefit for the people.
Hon. Kyule specifically took a swipe at Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of leading the Kamba community in circles with no tangible results. "For years, we've been stuck in the same political rhetoric. It's time we face reality and tap into the development agenda of President Ruto's government," said the MP.
He urged leaders from the opposition to cease constant criticism and instead acknowledge the progress being made across the country. "This government has a mandate to deliver, and instead of fighting every step, let us work together and appreciate the development already taking place," he added.
The MP rallied support for President Ruto, declaring that the Head of State deserves two full terms. "Ruto is here for 10 years. His track record is already speaking volumes. Let us walk with him and ensure that our people are not left behind," he emphasized.
The event, which focused on economic empowerment for local groups, underscored the need for unity and collaboration in realizing grassroots development across Machakos County.
