Numerous cases of Cholera Outbreaks have been reported in several counties so far, a situation that is been linked to the ongoing El-Nino rains.
Following Cholera Outbreaks in several other Counties , Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti moved with speed to form a multi-sectoral team , that comprises of various departments to help tackle Cholera should any case be reported in Machakos.
Addressing the Media at Machakos Deputy Governor's office in Miwani, Machakos, Health Minister - Daniel Yumbya, said that they are well prepared to tackle Cholera in Machakos, revealing that so far no cases reported in Machakos County.
"As per now we have no Cholera Outbreak cases reported in our County, but safety for our people is key. We are very ready to tackle Cholera"- said Yumbya
Onesmus Kuyu- Machakos Minister for Finance, pointed out that the County is well prepared financially to coordinate the war on Cholera.
According to County Secretary Dr.Muya Ndambuki, all the leve 4 hospitals across Machakos have been activated and atleast 5 beds put on standby in readiness for any eventuality
Mwangangi urged Machakos residents to keep safe, exercise high standards of hygiene to prevent themselves from the deadly disease, Cholera.
All Machakos County Hawkers have been put in notice by Health Minister Daniel Yumbya, to ensure Cleanliness and High Standards of hygiene when carrying out their businesses.
