In the wake of TVET courses advocacy and education enhancement, Yatta MP Robert Basil has sponsored over 380 students from the constituency for a 90-day ( 3 months ) course at YATTA TVET INSTITUTION in Katangi Ward.
During his campaigns, education enhancement was among Basil's top priorities. Today, a promise has been fulfilled.
381 students drawn from all wards have today joined Yatta TVET, where they will be equipped with skills on various courses that will help transform their lives for a promising future.
During his address, MP Robert Basil said that it is high time the youth gets trained on courses that will help them to employ themselves and improve their living standards.
He added that the program will also fight the drug menace as most of the youth will be engaged in school.
He called on all Yatta parents to consider uplifting Yatta TVET INSTITUTION for it's the only current established TVET INSTITUTION in the Constituency.
He reiterated his commitment to enhancing education in Yatta Constituency, saying that he will continue supporting education at his capacity, revealing that under his 10 years period of leadership, Yatta will be fully transformed for education is the ultimate equalizer, creator of opportunities and the way maker for a transformed future.
Ken Njoroge, the Director, Yatta TVET INSTITUTION, vowed to ensure that quality education is offered in the institution, saying more fruitful plans are in place for the betterment of all learners.
Gypsum, Masonry, Welding, Plumbing, and Cosmetology are among many other courses that will be offered in the institution.
